  1. I have a suggestion for those who visit Hilo and want to take something home for friends and family. Stop by KTA, they have an isle filled with locally made treats. A large selection to choose from (Coffee, sweet bread, cookies, and more)

  2. Loved this video was relaxing to watch the scenery as you drove, or walked through the zoo, park, and cities! I really want to try Hilo Lunch Shop Korean chicken! Love okazuya and never heard of that place, until this video.

  3. you should try asamis downtown.. better than hilo lunch shop and cheap too!! also try two ladies kitchen!! they are the best mochi shop and have strawberry azuki bean stuffed mochi and strawberry shortcake stuffed mochi!!

  4. We were there two weeks ago. At Kilauea, you went to the north side of the rim like we did at first, and can only see the smoke/steam from the eruption. But the next day we found a better view. If you turn left just after entering the entrance to the park, you can drive to the southeast side of the rim. About a 0.5 mile (?) walk from the parking lot, the rangers made a makeshift viewing point where you can see (and hear) the actual eruption vent with lava spewing. It was a great once-in-a-lifetime view of an actual volcano erupting. It's still very far away, but I got some great pics/video with my zoom lens. Nice video, tho, especially the food!

  5. Playing catch-up very nice vid.I finished a major operation lasted 9 hours in ICU for couple weeks and arrived home yesterday.Still tons of follow ups.I missed you and your channel😉🥰👍

  6. Another wiener!! Hah! Most of us don't get to travel much and these little jaunts you take with your son are just what the doctor ordered. Give you 2 thumbs up because I don't have any more thumbs.

  7. There are several places to eat or get food in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park: Volcano House, which has a bar, a restaurant, and a very nice seating area that overlooks the whole Kilauea crater. If you go to the military base, there is a general store there than anybody can shop at. It is about a mile past the visitor center on the right.

Those golf ball sized yellow fruit are edible but the plant is an invasive species.

Best thing to eat at Ken’s: Crab cakes Benedict. When I lived on Oahu I tried to find them there without success, Ken’s is the only place I’ve ever seen them and they are really delicious – just had some today!

  8. Near Captain Cook there is O’z Kitchen selling Japanese custard Taiyaki. Best food I had on Big Island. Same location as Randy’s Huli Chicken, except Thu/Fri

  9. Beautiful video, Misty, so relaxing. You successfully captured the beautiful sights and sounds of Mother Nature on the Big Island, mixed with great local eats. Excellent narration in yr calm and soothing voice. Also, loved seeing yr adorable son. Mahalo 😊💕🤙🙏

  10. Doesn't get much better than that – delicious food, good company, and nature at its best! Was that a white tiger? Thanks for the relaxing video. 👍
